    Can anyone help?

Our Band (Becontree Brass) has a concert in July with the theme being the war years celebrating the 60th Aniversary of VE/VJ day.

I wondered if anyone knew of a euph solo that would be apropriate for this type of concert??

The commitee haven't asked me to play one but they are bass players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)

The concert is at the Keneth Moore theatre Ilford, Essex 24th July at 7pm if anyone wants to come??

i think there is an old air varie called "the brigadier"(bit of an army theme!)
i dont know who composed it but who ever it was also did "the cavalier".
you could try to work "peace" by john golland into your programme.
i dont think this era was really covered with any kind of brass band solos.

    good luck

What about Benedictus (from the Armed Man) - by Karl Jenkins.

"This is a powerful and compelling account of the descent into and terrible consequences of war. Commissioned for the millennium by the Royal Armouries and dedicated to the victims of the Kosovo crisis, this work is a contemporary example of a mass based on the 15th-century French song L’Homme Armé (The Armed Man)"
