Easingwold march contest is this Sat 28th.

My band Frickley/South Elmsall are going.

Anybody know who else is going?

I know that Westoe will be there, I was hoping to play for them but I need to be back in Newcastle for 7.30 so I'm a bit disappointed

As Bass Man said Westoe will be there. I also believe Easington Colliery and NW Ellington Colliery are attending.

I'll be there by about 9pm, but only in my (in)capacity as beer monster. I've got the learners class to take 'til 8pm.

    See you all there,
    Sud.

As long as you had a good time mate. Judging by the state of my mother in her facebook photos there was plenty of alcohol consumed

Emley won best trombones on the march. We won the best 4th section.

I only know the march placings - sorry for the bottom centric point of view but that's lower section banding for you! In the march bit we came 5th bottom, beneath us were Westoe, Hetton, Stape and the Shepherd Concert Band.

We came 13th on the deportment side of things (must polish them shoes next year!)

It's a great little contest this one, and it gives some of the non-stellar bands a chance to shine. Well done to the organisers and those who won prizes.
