If the draw is freely available like this why do we have closed adjudication? Anyone got any ideas

It appears the adjudication is open this time Michelle.

It isn't - it is closed adj. Only the DLI Entertainments is open. It states in the consitution that the grading contest which this is is closed. Rule G9

    Closed Adjudication shall be used.

I think the answer is "Pass, why not bring it up at the next meeting if it is that important" :)

I probably will. The only reason I wasn't at the last one was cos I was at work. I know the draw used to be done on the day but a few years ago there was building works being done at the venue so we did a pre draw then but had to keep the draw secret until the day. The predraw was popular so we voted to keep it but If we're going to publish the draw on the web I just don't see the point of keeping closed adjudication

Please get one in for me Colin. The bar will probably be dry by the time I get there...

Who picks these pieces by the way?

    The bands!

Four pieces are selected by the previous year's adjudicators for that section, then the bands in each section are ballotted to state in order of preference which pieces they'd like to play. Then the votes are totted up and the winners selected.

It is at Peterlee this year rather than Spennymoor, as Spenny is being redeveloped. Let's hope they upgrade the catering facilities too :)

Not Bad. We'll be going with our usual aim of not coming last. I have a feeling BHK will get the horn section prize (if there is one) I hear you've signed someone from a Yorkshire band

Same here, don't want to end up cursing the band by saying something like 'Nothing could possibly go wrong now'.
