    Hi all,

My brother and I would like to start working on some duets. He plays trombone and I play tuba. He is quite young and I would like to encourage him by doing stuff together but there is a slight problem. He doesn't read treble clef and all the duets I have for tuba are too low for him to read. Any duets he has are too high for me and sound rubbish played down the octave!!

    Any ideas??

One piece I can think of is Double Portraits For Trombone and Tuba by David Uber (published by Kalmus). It runs for about 5 mins 44 secs.

Try some easy trombone duets, there are plenty available, either in trombone tutor books, or as books of duets. If you find books in the bass clef, you should be able to play along without any major problems. If you pick ones to start with, near to the front of the books, then the range shouldn't be a problem for either of you.
