Donate a Pound and win a euphonium ace! Having reached its initial target of £10,000 to help build a library in a school in Adet, Ethiopia, the pioneering project Brass Band Aid is now raising funds for stage two of the project; to help build further classrooms, toilet blocks and purchase sporting equipment for the school. Brass Band Aid has received invaluable support from bandspeople across the world in its bid to help make poverty history and give some quality of life to the children of Ethiopia and its latest fundraising campaign is guaranteed to further increase the funds whilst offering a unique opportunity for bands across the country. The latest addition to the Brass Band Aid fundraising campaign is a Donate a Pound Scheme, accessed through the BBA website at www.brassbandaid.com. In the first three months of the website being up and running it received 75,000 hits and if everyone that visited the website donated just one pound then what a difference this would make to the lives of the children in Ethiopia. When you visit the website you will now see the Donate a Pound button and BBA is inviting every visitor to donate at least £1 to the cause, or more if visitors wish. As an incentive, every visitor that donates at least £1 between now and 31 January 2006 will be entered into a prize draw. Subject to a minimum of £1500 being raised through the scheme between now and 31 January 2006, all the donors will be entered into a prize draw for the prize of euphonium virtuoso Glyn Williams performing with your band as guest soloist (within UK mainland). This prize comes courtesy of Fred Rhodes Musical Instruments and your band could get the chance to perform with one of the world’s greatest euphonium players for just £1! The Donate a Pound Scheme is now up and running so don’t hesitate to log on and donate your pound or more and, every visitor who donates in the next two weeks will be entered in to a prize draw for two VIP tickets to the gala concert at Brass in Concert in Gateshead’s Sage Centre on Saturday 19 November. So log on to Brass Band Aid at www.brassbandaid.com now!
