A thread to share those thoughts that you have and wonder if anybody else has....
Here's a couple that have recently been playing on my mind.

    Do you think...

that birds get a bit scared when they fly over motorways or big rivers/oceans? In a similar way to how you might feel a little uneasy when walking over a high bridge?

that what I see as red is the same as the red you see, similarily when I hear a note, is it the same note that you hear, or a different one with the same interpretation?

    Any help?

ooo another one just came to me whilst blowing out my candle....

Where does all the wax go from one of those candles in a pot type things, when you can't get spillage? If it evaporates, then my roof must be covered in candle wax...which is strange.

Photosynthesis, same reason most leaves are.

When you dream is it your brain chucking out redundant information and if so why do I never dream about where I put my car keys, mobile phone or that odd sock?

Ah on the contrary, mould comes in many different colours! Ask any self respecting student...

Do you think animals have religion?

i spose i'll be the first to attempt answers, busybody that i am :p

    in no particular order:

    mould isn't always green.

i think (but this is just what i think) that we do see colours slightly differently, and we do hear tones slightly differently, but i believe we hear pitch the same... just to a varying degree of accuracy (eg listening to some conductors trying to tune a band!)

wax burns. otherwise there would be no flame... i don't know what else it could turn into...

to what extent do you mean?

    i don't know.

    happy now?
    XD xx

When you reach the end of time, does it go back to the beginning?

How many people does it take to interpret an event accurately?

How many times do we have to watch exactly the same goal in football - and is it in fact the same goal, or does the act of observation (and the angle) change it in some way?

That's easy, the more people remember an event, the less accurate will be the interpretation. It's one of they inverse logic thingys.

How can you actually look at something you want to find, and yet somehow still fail to find it, like I did with my scissors yesterday?

    Can plants think?

Why does the fuel burn up and the house burn down?

Spooky. I've been having similar thoughts now and again, but especially yesterday running round a shopping centre. When a little toddler shouted out "doggie". Is she seeing the same thing we're seeing? Does doggie sound the same to one person as another.

I thought I was alone in my crazy thinking. Looks like I'm not.

    Hypothetically;

If I married a widow who had a grown up daughter,
My father fell in love with her and they got married.

This would make my dad my son-in-law and my daughter my mother, for she would be my father's wife.

If I then have a child, it would become brother-in-law to my dad,
and so become my uncle, therefore if he was my uncle, then he is also the brother of the widow's grown up daughter, Who is of course my step-mother.

Now if my father had a son then he would become my grandson, for he would be my daughter's son. So now my wife is now my mother's mother, so is she's my Grandmother too.

Question; Would I be my own Grandfather?? :-?

No, you'd be dead because your wife is a widow!

there's a song like that called "i'm my own grandpa" you know. and wouldnt the law prevent your dad marrying his grandaugher-in-law?

personally i don't think it matters whether we all see things the same - we all see them in the same categories, as it were - like everything that i see as red, yes another person might see as my blue, but they call it red because it all looks the same to them. hope ive made myself obfuscatory ;)

    xx
