I remember very well the committee meeting of the Hadstock Village Silver Band where Diane Pannell, our MD at the time, announced she was pregnant with, as it turned out, Chris.

How old does that make me feel?

I caught some of this years contest last night in the keyboard round. Did anyone else witness that scary 11 year old play a piano like it was the easiest thing since sucking on a dummy!!!!!! Scary scary child.

Horn player at Hepworth aka grandfilth
Aidan (nadia) was having a laugh. Extracting the urine.
The BBC Young Musician of the Year is on BBC4. It's a TV station here in the UK.

Risking accusations of being off-topic here... I have lost touch with the guys at Hadstock - I think that there are a few from my days there still playing. I keep hoping to get down to a rehearsal, but the Hadstock Village Hall is a long way from Wakefield!

Young Musicians... People stand on stage and show off for twenty minutes, and are then judged by fools in a box, who make stupid comments like "Well, obviously the violin is the most difficult instrument to play..."

Basically I got to the semi-finals of the bbc young musician of the year competition on my horn. Because Aidan and i are "friends"(!!) he decided to take the piss out of my t-horn skills for everyone on the mouthpiece to see. i.e. he was saying i was going to disgrace the brass band world because it is mainly an orchestral competition, and i was going to give the orchestral world a bad view of brass bands. :D .....
