Denton Brass held their seventh Peter Gee Memorial concert on Saturday Night at Denton's Festival Hall. the concert was a sell out and the band was received very well, this was the first public concert in the bands 150th year celebrations and the audience were left asking for more at the end of the evening.

All in all Denton Brass raised another £1150 for Christies Against Cancer Tameside Section. this included ticket sales, raffle and auction where a box of six fresh laid eggs was sold for £6.00. this brings our total from seven concerts to over £9000 and we hope to continue raising money for Christies for many years to come.

The next public concert will be the 150th Anniversary Concert at Hyde Town Hall, (unfortunately there isn't a big enough venue in Denton) on 4th July 2009 this concert will feature Brett BAker from Black Dyke Band and Leslie Howie from Fodens Band appearing as guest soloists.

    Well Done

Must say a big well done to all at Denton for this work. During the current economic climate thats a fantastic amount to be able to donate to such a worthy cause.
