Somebody told me the other day that the Heritage range for cornet had had their insides redesigned as well as their outsides - can anyone confirm this? My impression from the start was that the insides had not been changed for any of the mouthpieces throughout the range of instruments.

I suspect strongly that this would make a much bigger difference to their performance than any adjustments of external mass distribution.

To the best of my knowledge (being someone who worked with many of the prototypes throughout the process of these mouthpieces coming into existence) they are the same.

Thanks Mike. The suggestion seemed a bit strange to me.

I tried a H4 when they came out..... I was using a DW4 at the time.

I got to the shop having reserved it over the phone.

Really did not like the feedback I was getting from it (on a 928 )

I left the shop with a Yamaha David King.

Don't assume that a DWH4 will be very similar to a DW4 or equivalents. Of course the internal diminsions and rims are.... however the sound and feedback is very different. It actually felt like a different cornet all together for me !

    try before you buy. !
