Does anyone know if Star Trek Deep Space Nine has been arranged for band ? And if so who sells it?
Yes it has, and the second section, "The Battle for the Station" as featured in "Emissary" is quite marvellous.
DS9? Hell why not get the lot?
It's a cracking piece. Features on one of the dvd's I have. Brill sop part too.
Because TOS was out of print when I last looked...
There is a MIDI file on the internet called Star Trek Through the Years which features themes from TOS, DS9, TNG episode "Inner Light", Star Trek Generations, Voyager and TNG main theme.
I think it would make a wonderful brass arrangement. Anyone up for it??
thanx will give it a go.
think i found the one you are on about, can find it here
and i completely agree.:tup
by the way hells bones like the sig." If Satan was a musician, He'd play Trombone"
I think he plays basstrom with brackley
You should hear me when I get my hands on a symphonic bore Bass Trombone. Bass Trombone is the name and Obliteration is the game!
it has been featured on both the cd and dvd of the European Brass Band Championships 2005 played by Black Dyke. A stunning piece played by a stunning band!!!
Does anyone know who owns the copyright on it - if they can let me know, and I'll get in touch with them
Studio Music had the rights for TOS - I'd start with them.
Not impressed with the transcription of the DS9 theme on that MIDI file. The main figure starts ON the beat, not after it.
Thanks, a quick search of the Studio Music website reveals that the piece has already been arranged for Young Concert Band (I presume that includes woodwinds ((spit))), and also for full orchestra.
Does that make arranging it easier or harder?
The arrangement which Dyke played was arranged by Lt Col.Chris Davis.
It was first used at Brass In Concert when he took the Leyland band and was incredible in front of the band
