After two abortive attempts over the past few years (through no fault of their own) Arran gets a curry house again! Yippee! The Taj Mahal re-opens in Whiting Bay tonight providing Arran with it's only Indian restaurant. Having sampled their delights in their previous incarnations, their food is amongst the best I've tasted. Just right for after brass band rehearsals!

Now you're sounding spoiled for choice. Broadband, and now mutton curry! What next? TK Maxx?

Dave that is fantastic news. I'll be over in May and I'm already looking forward to sampling an Arran Tandoori mixed grill.

You know Dave, it makes me think. Wherever I go after this life, there will be a curry waiting for me.

Mmmm, curry. Now I think I know what I'll be having for dinner tonight! ;) Although it won't be from Arran (not tonight anyway.....)

    Do they do Haggis curry?
I'd have a bit of that - luv em both:tongue:

That does sound good - I love them both too! Wonder how the recipe would go? 1) First catch your haggis...... ;)

Running water? Surely the Presbyterians would have something to say about such sinful luxury?
I didn't realise that curry varies from country to country. Austrian curry houses (few and far between, let me tell you...) serve a very different curry to those dished up in Blighty. I missed British curry. :-?

You should try getting a curry in Perth, Western Australia after 9.30pm. I know that the taste might not be different, but the culture certainly is.

Take a garish sign stating openeing hours of 6pm to late.
Turn out the lights at 9.28pm
Get one of your amtes to ask if he can use the loo, as we have just walked for about three miles.
See that the wiatresses are Australian Caucasians dressed in saris.
Note that the cook is of Chinese origin.

Whilst I have nothing against any of the above, I found it unnerving.

    Back on topic.

Woo hoo for Mr Payn and in his honour, and his love of anagrams

Ha Ha! Tangibly jam the wit.

It was bit of a concern when the majority of anagrams for "The Taj Mahal Whiting Bay" involved the use of the word Jailbait

Don't know about that but I am threatening to cook a haggis lasagne for my girlfriend.... She keeps insisting she does all the cooking now. Should try that trick more often! ('Sheep's bladder vol-au-vent, darling?') ;)
