i had a quote of £50 about a year ago.
I could do with my 24AW re-plating. Last time i had it done it waas £12 inc P&P (2002). Unfortunately the gent who did it has since passed away I believe (Alaric Knight), so I could do with suggestions where to send it now.
Contact Dan Smith at Brass Fix he has done some great re-plating for me and others I know.
I can't see a current price on his site but he was not expensive.
Incidentally - I also had some great re-plating done by Alaric Knight but that was many, many years ago....
Don't know much about this company but worth getting in touch maybe
Bryce Ferguson at Brass and Woodwind in Edinburgh replated the rim of my trusty Bach 1-1/4G last year - and did a good job for much less than the amount quoted above (in fact, I think he threw it in for free as we were having a bigger job done with it?). He does bigger plating jobs too, of course - but it's only the rim that really matters, isn't it?
Ive had several done over the years, great service although he does tend to specialise in gold plating.
