Interested? Well you're looking at the post so please, read on.

The Yorkshire Band of The Royal British Legion has recently been awarded a grant and is in the process of building upon our current Corps of Drums. Some of our sections are full (owing to recent growth, we have five trombones- god bless em!)

Could you be our next recruit? Uniform, training and instrument provided and you could find yourself heading u a parade at some very auspicious occasions such as the recent RBL jubilee event a Nostell Priory Attended by the Lord Lt's from the county of Yorkshire and honourably Attended by Soldier Ben Parkinson ( who the band actively supports). Or perhaps on a bandstand, at St Paul's for a legion event or perhaps simply playing for the older members of the RBL at their own well attended functions.

You need NO experience. Just enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to learn.

Presently, rehearsals are on a Monday night a Fontenay Barracks! Barnsley S71 1nu. Lifts available from Sheffield, hull, Leeds and Huddersfield.

Whats the catch ? There isn't one. A military style concert and marching band without signing up will provide anyone, woodwind, brass or percussion with a thoroughly fulfilling time be it sociable or playing wise.

We are one year old in September and whilst coming a long way we would like to increase numbers. We have a steady list if engagements throughout the year so this isn't going to have you banding every weekend (unless you want to of course)

So, what have you got to lose.

To join a band where YOU can still help to mould the future you must be over 16 and enthusiastic and contacts us on or 07903 553496

Come to the band and be proud to be Shoulder to Shoulder with all who serve and have served!

    Thank you
