Cornet players sought to rehearse 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month in Salisbury. Must enjoy sight-reading. Those able to march short parades would be particularly welcome. Must be available for Remembrance Sunday. Willingness to play Last Post appreciated. We are a Royal British Legion Concert Band. We concentrate on performing mainly British music. We are currently researching performing Ellerby's arrangement of 'The Armed Man' and 'Mars - the bringer of war' next year but need to recruit a strong brass section to support this. We are planning performing movements from Tschaikovsky's 4th Symphony and Saint Saen's Organ Symphony if we are able to recruit sufficient players. We would like to concentrate mainly on including French and Russian composers in the main concerts to reflect our allies at the outbreak of the First World War. We do three major concerts a year, three short carnivals and play outside fundraising. We try to ensure that they do not conflict with major brass band competitions. If you would like to try a different set up to the traditional brass band please visit our website - www.salisburycityband.org.uk email us on email@example.com or call us on 01722 331163 Our next rehearsal is August 22nd followed by a short engagement on the afternoon of Saturday 24th. If you are interested we would love to hear from you. Enquiries regarding other brass positions also welcomed. We also are seeking to recruit a Euphonium player.
