Castlepoint Brass Band will be at St. Peter's Church, Benfleet for their annual concert on Saturday 9th April 7.30.

The band will be playing a varied selection from their repertoire and hope that people in the Hadleigh, Benfleet and Canvey districts will continiue to support them as in previous years.

Tickets are available on the door or by calling 01621 785578

Yes it is a shame. Our concert has been booked since last July but we are unable to change it at this late stage. As it's for charity we particulary don't want to let people down.

We hope that local people will choose the local struggling band rather than a scratch band trying to muscle into the area.

'tromtaff': we feel that last sentence was well out of order - particularly since you feel the need to use tMP to advertise your own event FOR FREE.

For your information, the tMP Charity Concert was also booked in July last year - the 16th of July to be exact, and were publically announced on our site in September.

We are not trying to muscle in on the area - this is one of many events undertaken by the tMP Band to raise money for charity. The concert in Hadleigh came about because of continued requests for us to visit the South - as previous events had taken place in the Midlands, the North of England and North Wales. We are simply responding to demand.

I have already made reference to the fact that this is a Charity Concert - as well as being an opportunity for us to 'get together' and meet banders from across the UK and overseas - it is an opportunity for us to give something back to the local community. It is the young people of the Hadleigh area that are going to benefit from our event - and no-one else.

We are sorry that you feel the need to 'attack' our event publically in this manner, and are diappointed that you aren't able to support our venture.

Good luck with your own concert - we will, of course, still allow you to advertise it on our forums.

    for the tMP Team.

The Salvation Army is a registered charity and one very worthy of money, especially for a youth work in Hadleigh, something that has be neglected for far too long

Sorry, but which concert will be held for the benefit of the Salvation Army; therefore, what is the reason for that post, jmb83 ?

I suspect that once again this is an example of the failure to portray the tone of a comment in an electronic post. I believe that it was simply a lighthearted comment from tromtaff and not one that needed a response from the weight of the whole tMP team.
