Blackwell Concert Band is on the lookout for more players to join their friendly group. A village-band style set up based near Bromsgrove, the players vary in ages and skill sets, and instruments cover most of the brass and wind range, also including a drummer. We currently have a busy front line of clarinets and flutes and would ideally love some more baritones/euphoniums/basses, anyone from the lower end of the spectrum to bring the band up to the standard they could so easily be at. We have a number of good players but our sound is hampered by a lack of players from the bass end.

The band is currently led by Tom Martin, an accomplished musician who is in his first year with the band.

The band are playing in several concerts this year starting with a steam rally in Stratford, and also taking in their regular slots at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and Bromsgrove bandstand along with other local venues. A full list is available on their website and the band also have a page on Facebook.

If anyone would be interested in knowing more about this band or its engagements, or would like to possibly book them for an event, please get in touch with either Vicky on 07845 897760 or email

The band is still looking for players to join the ranks. We would be particularly keen to see Trombone and Horn players, but everyone is welcome.

The band does not participate in any contests and focuses mainly on concerts in the North Worcestershire area.

There is strong social element in the band and we are always pleased to welcome new people.
