    St Lawrence's Church, Cambridge

    As a continuation of the band's highly succesful Church series, the band will perform a varied program including operatic arias by Dvorak, Puccini, Mozart and Verdi, with Catherine Martin, Professional operatic and oratorio soloist, as well as original and arranged brass band music by composers such as Gregson, Verdi, Grainger and Philip Sparke.

    The concert will take place an St. Lawrence's Church, Milton Road, Cambridge, as part of their Golden anniversary. Tickets cost £3 (Including refreshments)

    • Mozart: Alleluia (Soprano soloist: Catherine Martin)
    • Puccini: O mio babino caro (Soprano soloist: Catherine Martin)
    • Butterworth: The Banks of Green Willow*
    • Doughty: Grandfather’s Clock (Euphonium soloist: Cliff Wilkinson)
    • Bantock: Prometheus Unbound


    • Overture to the Impressario
    • Sparke: Song and Dance (Cornet solo: Richard Hull)
    • Borodin: Polotsvian Dances
    • Grainger: Irish Tune from County Derry
    • Dvorak: Rusalka’s Song to the Moon (Soprano soloist: Catherine Martin)
    • Verdi: Sempre Libra from Il Traviata (Soprano soloist: Catherine Martin)
    • Gregson: Variations on Laudate Dominum

    *Featured in this concert will be the first outing of Resident MD, Duncan Wilson's superb arrangement of George Butterworth's Idyll 'The Banks of Green Willow.' George Butterworth was a contemporary of Vaughan Williams but was unfortunately killed at the Somme in 1916.

    looks a good program.. I didi the Butterworth with Orchestra a few years back... quite a stunning work...
