Here on Arran, the village of Lamlash held its annual carol concert at the local church, with readings, choirs and Arran Brass all contributing. Everything went well.....except...... I fear the person who included the words of the various carols in the programme may be a wee bit embarrassed this morning. Why? I quote verbatim from verses 4 and 5 of While Shepherds Watched as it appeared in our orders of service yesterday. Can YOU spot the typo in each?

    4. The heavenly Babe you there shall find
    To human view displayed,
All meanly wrapped in swathing bands,
    And in a manager laid.

    5. Thus spake the seraph, and forthwith
    Appeared a shining thong
Of angels praising God, who thus
    Addressed their joyful song.

Bearing in mind 'd' is next to 's' on the keyboard, I'm glad they did write 'song' properly, otherwise I think the whole church would have been a mass of laughter!
