The Chicago Brass Band is having an open call of auditions for all sections for the 2013-2014 season! Come be a part of our outstanding and award winning ensemble!

Founded in 2002 under the direction of Dr. Colin Holman, the Chicago Brass Band strives to bring British Tradition - Chicago Style to our audiences. Competing in the Championship section of the North American Brass Band Association, CBB has maintained a top-100 world ranking since inception. In addition to numerous concerts each season in the Chicago metropolitan area, the Chicago Brass Band has performed at the Great American Brass Band Festival, England's Whit Friday Marches, and twice competed at the World Music Championships in Kerkrade, Netherlands.

CBB has a long and proud tradition of top-flight collaborations, having featured soloists Terry Everson, Mark Ridenour, Charlie Vernon, Gene Pokorny, Chris Martin, Jens Lindemann, and Rex Richardson. We are also proud of our composer and conductor collaborations with James Curnow, Peter Meechan and Chicago-native James Stephenson.

Every member of the Chicago Brass Band works to achieve the highest levels of small ensemble and solo performances as well, holding several NABBA soloist titles in brass and percussion, as well as maintaining the CBB Brass Quintet, Chi-Town Tubaphoniums, Chicago Percussion Project, and CBB Players brass ensemble.

The Chicago Brass Band strives to give back to our community through Project Horizon, our educational outreach program. Project Horizon seeks to awaken, inspire and engage young musicians in the Chicago area through live performance in local schools and educational institutions.

Auditions are being accepted in all sections, including cornet/flugel, tenor horn, euphonium, baritone, trombone, BBb and EEb tuba, and percussion. Percussionists should be adept at all aspects of concert percussion and drumset.

Interested applicants should email with name, instrument, and contact info to arrange an audition time and date. We look forward to hearing you!
