The up and coming Andover Town Band will be performing a concert at the St. Peter & Holy Cross, Church Street, Wherwell, SP11 7JJ, on Saturday evening 13th October, starting at 7pm. Tickets, are available from the White Lion in Wherwell, priced at just £6, with proceeds being shared between the band and the Church Restoration Fund. Any remaining tickets will be available on the door. The evening is an occasion to celebrate two really special events in the bands recent history. The band recently returned from the National Finals of Great Britain, claiming a magnificent 3rd place prize in the 4th Section, beating 20 other bands on the day, in a very tough competition. ATB will be performing the music played that day, "A British Isles Suite" composed by the talented 17 year old Jonathan Bates, a horn player with the world famous Black Dyke Mills Band. The concert also features much of the music played on the recent highly successful tour to Italy and Luxembourg, including favourites such as the exciting James Bond collection, a splendid arrangement of You Are the Sunshine of My Life (featuring 4 trombones and 3 flugel horns), stiring music from the Les Miserables, and culminating with the spectacular Riverdance. We'd love to fill the church, so please persuade a friend or two and come along for a great evenings entertainment!
