"Eden" by John Pickard...
Nice to see another new composition being used.... sounds like a good piece!
... have you heard it already?
(... if you don't know his music already, I know that you'll appreciate his approach!)
postedit,.... his trombone concerto, The Spindle Of Necessity, is a great solo not yet recorded by our elite trom. players (as far as I know).
 no I havent heard it.. i meant reading that 4BR article it "sounds" like it COULD be a good piece...
he's a great composer I'm sure this will be a treat
I see that he is no longer composer-in-residence at BAYV.
If it's up to the standard of the rest of his band output we should be in for a great day
Anyone got an erratta sheet? Just to save time for later hehe
I'm sure they've learnt their lesson from last year...
I've just found my recording of Pickard's trom. concerto. premiered in St. David's Cathedral, Cardiff by Mark Eager (the orchestra's 1st trom). Anyone know much about him?
Oh, since I last listed his website, John Pickard has added information about Eden ...

http://www.johnpickard.co.uk/page97.html (is this is the score-intro ??)
... wish we had more forward thinking composers like him. (... helps with interpretation)
Good to see Bb bass getting a solo
Whips? Metal chains? Sounds like the percussionists will be having fun!
and why does the trombone have to be evil?
lol! you would have to ask yonhee about that! (seems to be her catchphrase)
