TITLE: “Centre Stage Festival of Brass 2010”

SUBJECT: This Summer's "Centre Stage" Brass Band Concert series at Centre Vale Park, Todmorden, West Yorkshire.

TEXT: The unique position of the victorian Bandstand at Centre Vale Park, Todmorden, sited on the old historic Lancs/Yorks county border, provides the ideal setting to present some of the very best brass band entertainment this summer.

The annual "Centre Stage" concert series, now in its eleventh year, has grown in popularity and regularly attracts large audiences to enjoy an idyllic Sunday afternoon in the perfect setting of the Upper Calder Valley.

The festival opens this weekend with a concert from Todmorden’s ever popular Community Band. This year we feature a wide range of bands with three championship section bands, including the newly promoted Hebden Bridge Band. The full line up for this year is:

4th July - Todmorden Community Band
18th July - Pemberton Old Wigan (DW) Band
    1st August - Flixton Band
    15th August - Blackburn & Darwen Band
29th August - Besses O’ Th’ Barn Band
12th September - Hebden Bridge Band

All concerts start at 3:00pm. Refreshments will be
available at all the concerts and there is ample space for a
picnic. Admission to all of this year’s concerts is FREE.

The Centre Stage Concerts are organised by A Touch of Brass, a non-profit making, voluntary organisation intent on promoting arts events and fund-raising initiatives in the Todmorden area.
