I'm not connected in any way to the band, but since there aren't many Belgians posting on tMP and since it's still a pretty special occasion for a Belgian band to record a CD, I'd like to anounce that Brass Band Buizingen, conducted by Luc Vertommen, has just published it's second CD, called "Ad Optimum".

The CD includes Johan Evenepoels piece "Ginnungagap... seeming emptiness", which was commissioned by BB Buizingen for last year's Belgian Championships (were Buizingen became 2nd after BB Willebroek) and is this year's set piece for the Dutch Championships. The piece was discussed in the 4BR review of the Belgian Championships:

Among the other pieces, the CD also features four guest appearances of Peter Roberts on soprano cornet: "The Higher Plane" (Stephen Bulla), "Kyrie" (Paolo Rustichelli/Luc Vertommen), "Nun's Chorus from Casanova" (Johann Strauss/Luc Vertommen) and "Rhapsody for Soprano Cornet" (Robert Eaves).
