It might just be me being extremely silly but I was thinking about what cartoon characters would make up a good football team.

Does anyone have any thoughts about such a random topic?!

I thought that Roadrunner would be a fantastic striker because he's so quick; the Tazmanian Devil would make a great centre back as he'd just spin round everybody when getting the ball; and Buzz Lightyear would be a classy goalkeeper as every time a shot was taken he'd jut put his wings up to stop the ball.

Just a random thought to lighten up the day!

Shrek would make a good forward but only if his metatarsal is ok

    Wait a minute.....

    How about Andy Capp - he's still playing football it says so on his website;

"Andy's an everyday northern bloke who can, and does, philosophise on just about anything. Andy and Flo have stuck it out together all these years, and he is still drinking (but not smoking since 1983), still playing football, rugby and snooker and still unemployed."

    LMFAO!!! :D

You'd have to have Captain Caveman in the nets for that dramatic "Captain...CAAAAAAAVE-MAAAAAAANN!" dive!

I can just imagine Droopy as goalkeeper, trudging to the back of the net to retrieve the ball.

What about Sport Billy, he was good at everything!

Roy of the Rovers, naturally and of course you couldn't leave out Billy the Fish in between the sticks!

I reckon Spongebob and Patrick would be good at football!

Surely droopy would be a centre-forward as he has the incredible ability to pop up out of nowhere, anywhere, at any time. Regardless of whether that wolf has tied him up, put him in a barrel, thrown him down a well or anything. Imagine trying to man-mark him!

Speedy Gonzales and Road Runner on the wings. I pity the poor full-backs.

Mighty mouse as a midfield enforcer. (And he'd be good in the air at corners cos he can fly.)

I'd suggest Shere Khan and Baloo from the jungle book as centre halves. Talk about physical presence.

And naturally, big Louie the orang-utan in net!!

The Tazmainian Devil would be brilliant and whizzing through the oppositions defence!

Inspector Gadget in goal would be good too, he'd have all sorts of gizmos to stop the ball going in!

If you put Squiggly-Diddly in goal, the opponents wouldn't know which arm he was going to use when throwing the ball upfield.
