A memorial concert for the well known tuba player, teacher and conductor Carl Richardson is to be held at Burton-on-Trent Town Hall on Sunday 10th June. Carl sadly passed away at the tragically young age of 31, last July after a long and courageous battle against Leukemia. He had many friends throughout the musical world and many of them will be descending on Carl’s home town to take part in what promises to be a truly fantastic celebration of his life. The evening will take the form of a massed bands concert, but with two different types of ensemble in each half; a brass band (directed by Mike Fowles) in one half and a wind band (directed by ex De Ferrers High School Head of Music, Phil Marshall) in the other. Over 70 of Carl's musical friends and acquaintances (including many leading brass band and orchestral players) will take part in either or both of the bands. The concert, which will include a wide variety of musical styles (including many of Carl’s favourites), will commence at 7pm. Tickets, priced £5, are available in advance from Mrs Louise Evanson (Tel. 01283 543240) or at the door on the evening of the concert. Proceeds from the evening will go towards Leukemia Research. Anyone requiring further information about this special concert should contact Mark Bousie on 07971 527039 or email@example.com.
