Less than 2 weeks to the contest- let's hope that it's not a wash out again this year!

    Who's going/ staying where?

Yes and even if it was my birthday and people did buy me (alcoholic) drinks I wouldn't be able to have them as some of us have to play in the concert.

most definitely, the king of cheeses. Shame you will be missing out on the bus this time - for once we won't have a driver with a serious attitude problem! Ah well, hopefully Auntie Linda will oblige with one of her famous quizzes....

Not a problem - we will string all the timps together and tow them along behind the bus. Sorted.

Unfortunately I won't be able to have a pint with you this year as I am currently recovering after spending a week in hospital with an infection in my gall bladder.

I'll be thinking about you and will have a pint or two in my back garden.

Hope the rain stays off as it was awful last year.

Has anybody got anything to say about Martin Ellerby’s new test piece? I assume bands have been working on it.

High brow it ISNT, audience friendly it is, nasty front row part, big stamina issues. Plenty for everyone to do without it being painfull to rehearse.A much needed opportunity to concentrate on some good old fashioned basics of playing with out the fear of imminent pyrotechnics, pointless time changes and stupid cadenzas.

    In short

The Audience will love it because it has tunes
Most the bandsmen will enjoy it because the parts are good.
The hoity toitys will loath it, because it has tunes!!!!!!
