I'm currently in self (or family) enforced retirement from banding and instead of my playing just dying away I would like to buy myself a cornet.

Has anyone got any hints of where I could buy a cheap but good make cornet. Obviously I don't want any of the tat from India ala ebay.

Any help offered would be gratefully recieved

As long as you know what you are loking for, then Ebay isn't a bad place to start.
It might be worth checking with a local instrument shop to see if they have any second hand instruments though.

And John Packers have their own branded range, which are very good for the money.
