Butlins and the winter vomiting virus

    Hi All

    Has anyone else recieved this notice from Butlins saying that every band must have human spillage kits on the coach if they do not you can obtain them from butlins at £18 per person. The coach driver has to decide that if anyone on the coach is sick, is it this virus or is it just travel sickness and on arrival if anyone has been sick on the coach the site director has the right to refuse you access to the site or put that person in quarantine. The coach driver must also be trained in this type of situation

    On speaking to our coach driver yes they do carry sick bags but he has never heard of these special kits and he in his many years of coach driving has never been trained for this (yes he can use a mop and bucket):icon_twisted:

    1 since when have coach drivers been doctors
    2 yes you would get your money back for the rooms should you be refused access but what about the coach costs

    Does this apply if you're going in a car - would the driver need the same qualifications?

    There was a report on Watchdog last week about some new rules that Butlins were applying to Christmas breaks e.g. no large family parties etc due to a fight at one of the camps last year that resulted in a serious injury.

    There were a number of families that had booked earlier in the year and only just found out that they had had there bookings refused. There's a link here

    hope the no more than 8 rule doesn't apply to the January bookings.
