Can't see why you can't post them on here... the test piece rule only exists for own-choice test piece contests? does it not?? If its in The Bandsman.....

(In fact having been one of only 92 people to have viewed the Tmp rules  i can confirm that there isn't actually a rule regarding test piece posting........ Yes, mods I do know why you mod them, and yes, I do agree!!)

I see no reason why you shouldn't post them, but please post a credit as to where the information came from. I'd do it myself but my copy's at home and I can't get hold of my wife on the phone for her to tell me what they are  :(

Re: Butlins, personally, I'd have said Shipbuilders was 4th section but that's just me! ;-) Do like the piece, though!

"Chaucer's Tunes" was originally written for wind band, receiving its premiere in 1993 by Stockport School Wind Band. The brass version has been recorded by Black Dyke on their Michael Ball cd.

Having heard "The Four Noble Truths" on the cd of that name, it sounds as if it will be quite a challenge for the 4th section bands, but it seems the sort of piece that is full of variety, and should be good to rehearse.

"Diamond Heritage" is on the Brighouse cd of that name.

AW you have to be fucking joking with those pieces

Have played Diamond Heritage before... in the 4TH SECTION!!!!

As for Chauchers Tunes thats been used at the Youth Finals before and 3rd Section if memory serves me right..

If these are the actual pieces there is only one word i've can say... disappointed

P.S. I thought they weren't announcing the pieces until next tuesday???????

I must admit, I don't know any of the pieces chosen, but already I'm beginning to feel sorry for the test piece selectors! Rumours were rife about arrangements being selected with the accompanying gripes, so they choose original brass band works across the board and...... poor sods can't win! Personally, though I'd have loved it if the 4th section had got Suite Gothique (an arrangement) I'm glad all original brass band works have been chosen. Still, as it's the First time Fulham have qualified for the National Finals, we'll take whatever's been offered regardless! We're just glad to be taking part! ;-)
