  1. It is with the greatest sadness that the members of Burbage (Buxton) band annouced the sad passing of our chairman Bob Davies on Sunday 5th April. Bob had been connected with the band for 25 years, initially as a player and latterly as chairman where he over saw many succesful projects for the band. Perhaps his greatest legacy is the building of our new band room in which he played a driving role. Bob will also be known to many as chairman of the High Peak brass band association, and as an active committee member of the midlands regional committee.

The courageous way that Bob bore his serious illness over the last 5 months was truly inspirational, as has been the love and care shown by his wife Mary, to whom we extend our deepest sympathy along with Bobs two children Paul and Kath, both brass players in their youth.

  3. We are now able to announce that a service for Bobs life will take place at Buxton Methodist church on Monday 20th April starting at 12 noon. A private family service and cremation will take place prior to this.

Burbage Band will be playing, although not all players will be availble at this time, so we would welcome any other bands people who wish to play to come along. Can we ask though that if you do wany to come along for a blow you let me know in advance so as we can ensure music, stands and space etc are available.
