Will it be wet at the Anniversary of the Bugle Contest? The best of luck to all those bands competing!

Of course, it wouldn't be Bugle otherwise! :)

I did consider going to listen had the weather been nice.

The forecast is looking pretty bleak at the moment however!

Bit of a shame about the number of entries in the 2nd and 3rd sections. Other that that generally fantastic and great to see so many training and youth bands.

Just a couple of comments which I hope the committee may find of help. I had been looking for weeks on the website to see who would be playing. The page entitled 'schedule' has never been completed. The website write up on the event does not list the conductors and the results archive is still not available after months. I was there and sad that so few bands entered. There is great prizemoney on offer I visited one marquee and saw that there was a display for the centenary. Well, this comprised three or four boards with some newspaper cuttings and a few photos. This was very poor. After 100 years, for a royal contest, with all the modern technologies available, surely there could have been a fantastic display covering all the decades. This was a missed opportunity. I couldnt see any big banners etc around the stage. It was as if there was no celebration at all! A major relaunch is needed I think to ensure that we do not lose this contest for good!

On a more positive note, congratulations to St Dennis and Darren Hawken and also to Helston and John Hitchens on two well deserved wins.
