It was our first time at Bugle - and it was a super day. We were made so welcome by everybody, it really was what banding is (should be) all about. It was very windy, and at one point I looked over to see the sop player's music stuck to the 2nd cornet players face!! But that aside, what a terrific event and well done to the organisers, stewards and not least everyone who took part and helped to create such a great, positive, friendly atmosphere. Particularly our thanks to St Austell Band who made a point of finding us and inviting us to a doo at their bandroom - sadly we were not able to attend as we had plans already - but it was such a lovely gesture and really summed up the friendliness of the entire day. I don't know what all the results were I'm afraid, all I can tell you is we won the first section - test piece and march - that our top euph Lucas Wong won best instrumentalist in the section, and our basses won best tuba section of the day. I've a sneaky suspicion we may be back next year!!! Thanks again everyone for making us so very very welcome - events like this renew your faith in the banding movement.
Any fourth section results on this contest ? Fantasy brass points depending on this . Going for a clean sweep on this one

Well done to all at Camborne Brass, again a very young band making a fantastic sound. The marching looked great going down and back in rows of five and looking fantastic also sounding great on the march. A real test on the stage with the wind and general conditions. It must be time for the contest organisers to sort a decent set of stands though!!!
