Who is Britain's most successful bandsperson in terms of National, British Open, Masters, English Nationals, European & Brass In Concert wins? My money's on a percussion player from Yorkshire.
I think that depends on whether or not you count an Open above a National or vice versa and if a European is ranked anywhere near as highly. Having said that I think it must be Kevin Crockford or Derek Jackson with Richard Clough somewhere in the mix. Nige B
I know that Derek Jackson has won at least 10 open titles most with dyke and a couple with faireys, and he must have won the nationals quite a few with dyke in the 60's and 70's.
Just for the record (not a brag) Nationals: 79,81,85 Open: 83,85,86,94,97,99,01,03 Euro: 79,82,83,84,85,87,90,99,00,01,02,03,04. Masters: 92,99,00,04 Area: 85,87,90,91,04 Or there abouts (never could count, not even in band) Retirement is great
Also not a brag cos dont match the above! 2 nationals 4 british opens 4 masters 9 europeans 6 areas (i think) 2 brass in concert 1 granada band of year BTW get out of retirement you lazy sod.....missing you loads Grezzy
To win one of the major's would be a dream come true rather than the feiw near misses I seem to get!! But I take my hat of to anyone who has one a major.
