Brighouse wide open for Nationals

    Brighouse and Rastrick Band are holding two open rehearsals as they prepare to compete in the National Brass Band Championships at the Albert Hall on Saturday 20th October. You can hear the band at the Central Methodist Church, Brighouse on Wednesday 17th October and Thursday 18th October from 7:45 as Musical Director Alan Morrison puts his final touches to the test piece, Philip Sparke’s ‘Music for Battle Creek’, a new piece commissioned for the contest.

    The following Saturday, (October 27th ) the band will be teaming up with guest conductor Richard Evans and the Fodens Richardson band to present a massed bands concert in Huddersfield town hall. The theme for the concert is ‘Earth, Wind and Fire’ and tickets are still available from Fawcetts Stationers in Brighouse, through David Howe who can be contacted on 01274 72533 or from Kirklees Information Centres.
