Brenden Wheeler, Leyland’s exciting young principal euphonium player has been badly injured in a motor accident on the M61. He was caught up in a multi vehicle shunt near Bolton, whilst travelling home to Manchester following Leyland’s rehearsal on Thursday night (2nd November 2006). Brenden’s family are in the UK, visiting him from their home in Australia. They had come to see Brenden and Leyland performing at the Royal Albert Hall last weekend and Brenden was looking forward to playing for them again in two concerts this weekend. Brenden’s younger brother was also in the car, but has now been released from hospital. It’s understood Brenden may have to undergo surgery for severe leg injuries. The thoughts of everyone at Leyland are with Brenden, and his family, hoping he makes a speedy recovery to full health.

Updates will be posted to the bands website
