Bratton Silver is at the centre of a whirlwind period with some major projects on the boil, including the release of its first ever CD and preparations for a proposed tour to Boston in 2009.

The band’s debut CD is entitled Immemerie and features popular tunes such as Dad’s Army, The Best of Bond and Breezin’ Down Broadway. Priced at just £7, the CD can be purchased direct from the band.

Funds from the CD will help boost fundraising targets as the band is also busy organising events to raise money to undertake a tour to Boston in 2009 which will form part of the band’s year long celebration of its 150th Anniversary.

In the short term the band is busy preparing for its forthcoming concert season, which includes a concert in Kingswood Methodist church, Bristol on Saturday 12 November 2005.

Said the band’s Secretary, Lisa Hill: “This concert is of particular importance to the band as it is a memorial concert for our former Musical Director Melvyn Howe, who sadly passed away in December 2004. The concert commences at 7pm and admission is free with all donations received going towards the Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Salvation Army.”

Following the concert in Kingswood, the band’s next engagement is a Christmas concert in the West End Baptist Church, Westbury on 26 November, prior to a recording for BBC Wiltshire Radio on 8 December when the band will featured in a carol concert, due to be aired on Christmas Eve. The band’s final engagement in 2005 takes place on Sunday 18 December at the Jubilee Hall in Bratton. This starts at 2.30 pm and again, admission is free.
