    Hi All

Spotted this awful news this morning... the wonderful pier at Weston Super Mare is no longer - it has been totally destroyed in a blaze. Here's the news page at Sky...

very sad indeed. I was on it only at the end of march when i was doing a concert in the winter gardens. It'll be missed by the locals for sure. Just hope it can be rebuilt.

What a very tragic incident for Weston-Super-Mare. I can sympathise. Its like how The West Pier in Brighton, near where I live(a 20 minute drive on A23). That has become quite derelict now. With fire as well.

The difference being they were going to knock down and rebuild the west pier anyway. If the Weston Super Mare pier is anything like the Hastings pier, the council let a private company run it and they don't do any maintenance.
