After 10 months of rehearsals Brassage Brass-Band gave its début concert on Friday the 3rd of February 2006 at St Marcel's church in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. The band had the extreme pleasure of walking on stage to an audience of 360 people who almost filled the church.

The concert was opened by the prémière performance of the brass band arrangement of Brassage, composed and arranged by the band's talented young musical director, Mathias Charton. The rest of the program included Gaelforce, Oregon, An Irish Blessing, a selection from Cry of the Celts conducted by the assistant musical director Jean Modry, and finally Florentina March. The performance was met with rapturous applause from the largely French audience, many of whom discovered the brass band for the first time.

The second half of the concert was given by La Poste's and France Télécom's concert band and the concert was finished off with the two bands playing the theme from Ben Hur.

All in all an undeniable success for the Brassage Brass-Band's first concert. Thanks to all the musicians who participated and especially to our public whom we hope will come back for the next concert.
