"Brass Routes" Brass Quintet

    The "Brass Routes" Brass Quintet will be presenting a concert on Thursday 19th June at Blewbury Parish Church (South Oxfordshire), as part of the Blewbury Arts Festival. Programme to include:

    'Symmetries' (Dave Taylor - premiere performance)
    'from Carnival of the Animals' (Saint-Seans, arr. Dave Taylor)
    'Fugue in G minor' (J.S.Bach, arr. Canadian Brass)
    'Nice Work if you can get it' (Gershwin, arr. Holcombe)
    'Ain't misbehaving' (arr.)
    'Just a Closer Walk' (arr.)
    'Original Dixieland One-step' (arr.)
    'The Harmonious Blacksmith' (Handel, arr. Roger Harvey)
    'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' (J.S.Bach, arr.)
    'Ceremonial Suite' (Samuel Scheidt, arr.)

    and a piece for solo Horn with Piano accompaniment.

    The quintet are

    Martyn Chambers, Trumpet
    Natalie Chambers, Trumpet
    Rob Fox, Horn
    Dave Taylor, Trombone
    Simon Handley, Tuba

    Indeed I do/will. It's a shame I didn't see this before the rehearsal we've just had! His solo spot for the concert (with myself providing Piano accompaniment) will be Eugene Bozza - 'La Foret', by the way.

    He's doing classroom teaching these days - in fact he's just become head of his Music department.
