Following the success of the 2012 Concert, Brass For Heroes is back for 2013!

Last year’s event raised well over £800 for Help for Heroes, and this year’s concert is planned to be even bigger and better. The all-star youth band, which comprises of a selection of the country’s finest young brass banding talent, is in the final stages of planning and details for the event are now available for release. Members of the band feature from the ranks of bands such as the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, Black Dyke, Fodens, Grimethorpe, Faireys, GUS, Milnrow, Wingates and Blackburn and Darwen.

This year’s conductor will be none other than Philip Harper from the Cory Band, current European and Brass in Concert Champions. The event is also delighted to have secured the services of Black Dyke Principal Cornet, and European Championships Best Soloist, Richard Marshall as the Guest Soloist.
The concert will take place at St Paul’s Hall in Huddersfield, commencing at 6:30 pm on Saturday 19[SUP]th[/SUP] October 2013.

The programme will feature a wide range of pieces to suit every taste, from orchestral transcriptions through to modern pop music. The organisation is also pleased to have a selection of World and UK premieres scheduled for this year’s concert, with brand new works by student composers Christopher Bond and Nic Mills, as well as a new signature march by Jonathan Bates.

Tickets will be priced at £10 for adults, £8 for concessions (u-16 and OAP’s) and £5 for students.

Final preparations are now well underway for the 2013 Brass For Heroes concert at Huddersfield University's St Paul’s Hall.

Concert organisers Josh Cirtina and Jonny Bates are looking forward to welcoming both esteemed principal cornet of Black Dyke, Richard Marshall, and the newly crowned National Championship winning conductor Philip Harper to the concert.

The band consists of players from the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain, Black Dyke, Fodens, Rothwell, Milnrow, GUS and even Stavanger!
