The Brass Course which will be run by Peter Bassano former Head of Brass at the Royal College of Music will cover a large repertoire of works for brass ensemble, brass quintet, and solo works with piano - perfect opportunity for established student ensembles to work intensively. There will also be rehearsal sessions on symphonic repertoire and opportunities to conduct for those who have an interest.

There will be some collaborative work with the jazz course and some of the players will be invited to play in the Big Band which will play Bernstein’s Prelude, Fugue and Riffs amongst other pieces.

The members of the brass course will give several foyer performances and one in the Great Hall at the end of the week. There will also be workshops sessions to develop technique and work on specific issues raised during the week.

All participants are encouraged to bring their own repertoire with the piano accompaniment parts as the renowned accompanist Juliet Edwards will available to work with all the brass students with opportunities to perform in foyer concerts during the week.

    Fees for the course are
    adults: £380
    students in full-time education £280

    self-catering accommodation : £145

Generous bursaries are available until 1st July for full time students, through the Friends of Musicfest. Please contact Sophie Bennett for more information.
