Anyone been to this festival in Prague before? We've been approached to go and play over August Bank Holiday this year, and just wondering if anyone knows anything about it before we start trying to work out how to get 4 basses and a drum kit to Prague via Easyjet ... !

I have never been to Prague, however, my brother, Dr Roderick Paton, spent several years their in the 1960/70's, studying one of Czechoslovakias' main composers, Leos Janacek, (most famous in this country for his Sinfonietta). If your band takes up this invitation, then may I be so bold as to ask you to contact me on timpaton@tpmusic.co.uk concerning my "Three pieces from Czechoslovakia".

We were going to go, but the dates make it prohibitive - August not a good month when you've a lot of teachers in a band

I think I may go for the weekend this year as it looks a good crack and anything to strengthen banding links with other countries. Also, I have found flights for £4.99 each way!!! oh - and the beer and food is really cheap!!
