I need to write a letter for a player in our band who is playing with another band at Yeovil. I've never had to write a letter before so could someone please tell me what I need to include?

It just needs to be a straightforward thing, something along the lines of:

'I authorise the release of John Smith, registration number 12345, to play with XXX Band at Yeovil Entertainments Contest on 7th February 2009.
    XXX Band'

Put it on headed paper and you're done!

    Hi cornetsquint.
All you need to supply is the short letter as discribed on headed paper.
Dont forget to give them thier Registration card as well as the letter then you should be ok.

Yeah I was gonna say, put it on headed paper too...

All you need to write is a short letter, doesn't have to be a long explanation at all...just a quick note really on headed paper, with the signature of your secretary on it.
