When you say blows and plays OK, do you mean it's just acceptable or it is decent? It's a fair price, about what I'm looking to spend, but I don't really want to end up on a dog! Currently playing on a borrowed Courtois large (very large??) bore, and needing something a little less 'orchestral' sounding.

I took the cornet to Band practice this eveing and let a couple of the front row cornet player have a blow...A lot better tham I could do, being merely a Tuba player. In the right hands, it has great intonation and depth. smooth tone... Its better than decent

merly a tuba player, try geting a cornet player to get a decent sound out of a tuba. I too would have trouble getting a cornet to sound good however good the instrument was.

Lets stick to the topic of the cornet.........if I give cornet players any stick, they'll hound me forever more...not saying your not wrong buddy. I'm digging a hole for myself here. OK, there are probably some good bass players who can double on the cornet...but I can't..thats it

I wouldn't even question these cornets. Providing it's as original (i.e no major repair work done on it by bad technicians) then for £599 I'd personally snap his hand off! (current finances and the misses prevent me from doing so!)
