The famous (infamous?) all-girl band are appearing in Alyth (near Blairgowrie for those who don't know) this Saturday at 7.30pm in a fundraiser for cancer charities. Such has been the demand for tickets that the venue has changed from the Town Hall to the significantly larger Parish Church. The band are staying over to participate in the local Gala Day celebrations on the Sunday.
Any other banders from these parts going along?

    Nice one Wilky!

Alyth (pronounced AY-lith) is a wee town in sunny Perthshire, near Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus, about 20 miles from Perth, 15 or so from Dundee. Perthshire Brass perform there fairly regularly, always to appreciative and generous audiences.

The target on Saturday is apparently to raise £5000.

Think Boobs and Brass will be the most exciting thing to have hit Alyth in many a year! ;)
Hope the concert goes well, disappointed I won't be able to make it :(

Great night last night - good turnout for an enjoyable concert.
If anyone gets a chance to listen to this band, take it - for a "scratch" combination they are excellent. Particularly enjoyable was the variation in the programme, not many bands will feature an accordionist and even fewr a virtuoso recorder player performing "Grandfathers Clock"! Band accompaniment to the recorder solo was exemplary - object lesson to quite a few bands. Am told by "honorary Boob" George, who marched with the ladies this morning that everyone in Alyth thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the band's efforts last night and also today.
  6. .... and we really enjoyed being there!

Many thanks for a wonderful welcome in Alyth - and we raised lots of money for Breast Cancer charities as well. It was a real honour to play with your talented young pipers/dancer - Highland Cathedral was magnificent!
