Red Dog Brass are delighted to announce that the fabulous trombone quartet ‘Bones Apart’ will be appearing at The Big Brass Bash on Sunday 13th June 2010.
Formed in 1999, the all-female trombone quartet Bones Apart has quickly established itself as one of the world's leading young chamber ensembles.
Winners of the prestigious Royal Over-Seas League Competition, Rio Tinto Ensemble Prize and Miller Trophy, Bones Apart has performed at major UK venues including London's Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Fairfield Halls, St. Martin-in-the-Fields and St. James's Palace as well as regular appearances on television and radio.
They have been guest artists at many international festivals around the world including International Trombone Festival, Cayman Arts Festival, Sauerland Herbst Festival, Edinburgh International Festival, Eastern Trombone Workshop and Villinus Festival and have travelled as far afield as the United States, the Caribbean, Japan, Germany, Holland, France, Spain, Switzerland and Lithuania.
The diversity of their recital programme incorporates music of many styles and genres including baroque, classical, romantic, latin, jazz, popular and contemporary as well as numerous commissioned works for trombone quartet by composers such as John Kenny, Gary Carpenter and trombone virtuoso Christian Lindberg.
The Big Brass Bash is already promising to be a fantastic day out for families and brass and wind players, with performance bookings are already filling up quickly and a series of mini concerts being given alongside the main competitions.
