On Saturday 3rd November, the Bon Accord Silver Band will host its 7th Annual Concert in the Mitchell Hall, Marischal College, Aberdeen. Under the baton of their respective conductors, Duncan Beckley and Pauline Wallace, both the Bon Accord Silver Band and the Bon Accord B Band will take the opportunity to showcase their hard work over the last 12 months, including some of their programme from the recent Fife Charities Band Association Contest where the Silver Band conducted by John Maines won prizes for the Best March, Best Hymn Tune and Mark Boyd was awarded Best Trombonist of the day. Bon Accord has long since recognised the importance of local youth talent and in an attempt to strengthen ties, the Aberdeen City Youth Brass Band has been invited to perform at the concert. Their conductor, Eric Kidd, will use the concert to give a preview of their programme for the upcoming Scottish Youth Championships in Perth at the end of November. The evening will close with a massed band item comprising all three bands. It promises to be a great evening of local brass band talent with all three bands very much on form at the moment and keen to give a good show. The concert will begin at 7.30pm with tickets available on the night priced at £5 or £3 for concessions.
