Not much build-up seen for this contest so far; will Paddy be departing some of his wisdom?

Really looking forward to it anyway, nice new venue should be good.

I'm suggesting #Bolsover2012 for twitter unless there's already one about- see you there and good luck to everyone!

Like the #Bolsover2012 will use that too. But just in case anyone goes to Bolsover for the contest bare in mind that its actually in Clowne just off M1 junction 30

Venue is good and although one room is a sports hall (sections 4 and 2nd) but the other is a theatre type building for all the other sections.

Are there many shuttlecocks to bring down from the Rafters?

And nice to hear that a majority of your band came from your own development.

It would be interesting if each band put onto the thread the programme they played at this years contest.

    Hoping you will oblige

    Ireland Colliery performed

All Night Long - Leigh Baker
The Irish Blessing -Stephen Bradnum whole band with out music apart from 4 soloists
    the new colonial - R B Hall
Lament - Karl Jenkins - Euph Solo
Finale From Symphony no 8 Anton Bruckner - arr Lee Morris

Alot better venue than previous years well done to all prize winners happy with our result as we had 2 weeks of rehearsals after the finals with a lot of people off due to other commitments. But it was all ICCB yesterday. It was suprising in alot of sections how many borrows there were in a number of bands, when the limit was 4. When prize money is involved shouldnt the rules be abit more controlled?

Also a big well done to Deepcar a fantastic result for the team who has a mix of young and old but have been building a solid team under Mr Bolt in the last year or so and are also seeing some of that hard work developing young players from their training band.

Cheers for the kind words Mr K!

We were delighted naturally. It's the best result the band has ever had, especially given the quality of the 7 other bands that were competing.
