I thought I knew most swear words but tMP's naughty word bleeper has me really confused this time.

I am trying to use the past tense of 'Fit' or an estage agents term for wardrobes that are not stand alone

    ie *****d !

Why does this get bleeped - Is this a word I should be aware of & not use in general conversation ?

    I've come across f i t t e d before. f i t t e must be a dirty word in some language - like ulay or Jif! :)

Sorry about this gang... I guess I need to read the tutorial on how to use the vB bleeper system.... I am not sure why these erroneous bleeps are occurring... I shall look into it.

    It's perplexing, right enough!

On this subject, I was posting in another forum and I said "My Associated" (I was talking about Associated Board exams...). The "My" and the "Ass" were replaced with "I disagree" so my sentence went something like this:

"I passed I disagreeociated Board Grades". Thing is, the bleeper didn't work on preview, only once I actually hit "post". It was quite funny though - took me a while to work out what had happened!

  8. Dictionary.com defines "*****" ("F-i-t-t-e") as:

In Old English, a song; a strain; a canto or portion of a ballad; a passus

Perhaps the mods have decided to ban all non-brass related musical terms like Vi***n, C***inet etc......
