The bands first collaborated when involved in recording a CD entitled 'Nobody Does it Better' in 2004. Scirocco Wind Ensemble was formed eleven years ago when clarinettist Stephanie Allen had an idea to form a wind ensemble of sorts. The Ensemble had no music or conductor, but plenty of enthusiasm, despite the aspiring members being out of practice. The musicians, playing an unusual, yet effective combination of instruments - flutes, clarinets and saxophones - became the Scirocco Wind Ensemble. The group has since attracted some fine musicians, who together produce a unique sound, playing varied and entertaining programmes, catering for all tastes. For Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band, the Benn Hall concert follows on from a busy summer season that saw 9 appearances in the Rugby area, including a performance at the 'Rugby Open Air Classical Concert' as well as the ever popular 'Last Night of the Proms' concerts in Monks Kirby. During the concert both groups will perform solo spots before coming together for a massed bands finale.
